interestelar

Hi Everyone, 2 weeks ago I attended the movie INTERESTELAR. Loved it, I love SCI-FI, true, but this movie blew my mind & really touched me deeply. The idea of interestelar travel, to dive into the deep darkness beyond anything known (so fkn scary), the realization that we are SO small and insignificant compared to the infinit greatness out there. The way time goes by and how time itself past present and future are all interconnected and run in paralel. Added to the infinit love of that father (not knowing when he'll come back) whispering into his daughter's ears: "I love you forever...I love you forever", so true and so moving to me.

Having watched the movie I remembered I had a photo I had taken 4 years ago which I really liked a lot but couldn't think of a place for it. Well, I finally did find a reason for it.

Really love this photo. The darkness giving it a sense of  remoteness infinity, the white light coming from above (upper left corner) as an unknown source of light / life shining onto a flat futuristic still surface and the contrast of this light bouncing off onto moving waters.

meus vizinhos

Hi everyone, three weeks ago I finally had the luxury to go out in Sao Paulo to take photos. With my Polaroid and iPhone in-hand I came across these vivid graffitis near home. Its amazing how these colorful 'neighbours' distinctively decorate the streets of Pinheros and Villa Madalena. I introduce you…meus vizinhos.

progress fixed

Hi Everyone, this weekend something different. To see this one you will have to click on the vimeo link above. The photo is just meant as a teaser or a thumbnail.
But let me give you a short intro. On our trip to Myanmar we stayed a couple of days in Yangon, its capital city, and added to going to temples we just walked around with a paper map in our hands getting lost in the buzzing lively place. And let me tell you, what makes Myanmar so special is that progress hasn't caught up with it. It has stayed unpolluted, keeping its romantic feel.
So, lost and just walking over a bridge I saw and snapped at this train passing beneath me at an extremely slowly pace. It only passed through once a day, and the whole situation seemed frozen in time. I just imagined myself there decade after decade after decade and taking the same photos. Be it the early 1900's (in sepia), through the 1940's  (black & white) through the 1970's down to our digital age…and the only thing that would change would be the photographic aesthetic…nothing else.
And that is what makes this animated series so special to me….its simply timeless.

colortrail

Hi Everyone, this weeks triptic I took in Chinatown in Singapore where, if you just look up, you will be able to see endless trails of colorful lamps dangling from one side of the roads to the other painting the sky with endless diagonals of color.

kaleidoscope

Hi Everyone, this week a triptic from my last trip with two of my lifetime friends (Chompi & Pato) to Asia. I took this in a temple in Yangoon, capital city of Myanmar.  We were walking up to the temple, it was quite dark and raining outside when we saw an opening with light and these sun shades arranged at different distances with different colors and sizes. We dazed in awe (or at least I did) at the show of colors for what seemed ages. I love this series..so vivid, so dynamic, so alive.

EXIT with a TWIST

Hi everyone! Here a more POP compo I took of some really colorful emergency exits behind an old building in Singapore over 4 years ago.
